Cirillo e' stato abbastanza bene in questa settimana, ha anche imparato a riportarci la pallina di carta, che tenero!
La diarrea per fortuna e' passata, per qualche giorno abbiamo sospeso il cibo umido dalla sua dieta e gli abbiamo dato principalmente croccantini..
Finalmente sono arrivati i risultati degli esami delle feci.. hanno trovato "uova di toxocara cati".
Ci siamo documentati un po' e questi vermi sono davvero orrendi: lunghi da 4 a 8 centimetri, penetrano nella parete intestinale e vanno in circolo, raggiungendo vari organi, primo tra tutti il polmone. Da qui la larva risale le vie aeree fino alla faringe, per essere deglutita e giungere di nuovo nell'intestino, dove depone le uova. Le uova vengono espulse con le feci e aspettano di entrare a contatto con un nuovo ospite per ricominciare il ciclo..
Il veterinario ci ha prescritto un farmaco in gocce, "Len", da somministrare per tre giorni..

We looked for more informations about that on the web and these worms look disgusting: they are 4 to 8 cm long, the adults live in the small intestine lumen and can reach several organs, lungs in particular. Then the larvae goes up to the pharynx, gets swallowed and goes back to the intestine, where lays her eggs. The eggs get out with the feces and wait to find a new host to infect and restart the cycle..
The vet gave us an anti parasitic called "Len", to be taken for 3 days....
